Core Concepts to Master

1

Test-Driven Development (TDD)

TDD is a software development process that relies on the repetitive cycle of writing automated tests before writing the actual code. This approach ensures that the code is testable, maintainable, and reliable.

2

API Testing

API testing involves verifying that APIs behave as expected, including validation of REST and GraphQL requests, authentication, and token handling. You will learn how to use libraries like requests and httpx to write effective API tests.

3

Database Testing

Database testing involves validating SQL queries, data integrity, and database schema. You will learn how to use libraries like PostgreSQL and MySQL to write effective database tests.

4

Mocking and Isolation

Mocking and isolation involve simulating external dependencies and isolating dependencies to ensure that tests are independent and reliable. You will learn how to use libraries like unittest.mock and responses to write effective mocking and isolation tests.

5

CI/CD Integration

CI/CD integration involves automating testing and deployment processes using tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions. You will learn how to write and maintain test stages in CI/CD pipelines.

6

AI Coding Assistants

AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot and Amazon Q can help you write code faster and more accurately. You will learn how to use these tools to improve your productivity and coding quality.

Interview Questions (Beginner)

  • Can you explain the concept of TDD and how it differs from traditional development?
